| 6th STAGE - PRAGELATO - CESANA - M. CHABERTON - JULY 27th, 2007 | VI stage - 27/07/2007 – from Pragelato to Mount Chaberton Another great stage at Iron Bike, characterized by the climb to Mount Chaberton, the symbol of this race. Sibl wins. Prado Neto is out of the race!
The athletes today, faced the hardest of all stages: the climb to 3120m of Mount Chaberton . 50 of them are even admitted to sleep overnight inside the fortress.
Turin Major Chiamparino climbed the Mountain by feet, in the morning, and was there to plause the first to come. He was together with the majors of Clavière, Cesana and Montgenèvre.
Today, on the top of the symbol of Iron Bike, the Mount Chaberton , the most spectacular stage of all took place. Together with the majors, the main italian national broadcasting televisions were there (RAI, Sky Sport, Canale 5) and journalists from France, Spain, Italy and Cezck Republik.
The fight between Sibl Radoslav and Hugo Prado Neto found on this mountain a sad end. After a competitive first special trial where the two riders really run an emotional race, right up to Fenils before the climb to Chaberton, Hugo Neto felt seek for a stomach problem. Nothing serious but he really couldn’t go ahead. This is the end of the brasilian dream, unfortunately.
On the top of the Chaberton, Sibl is first, followed by incredibile italian rider Mauro Pellegrino and Miroslav Janotav.
The head of the race is led by Sibl, followed by Janotav and Mauro Pellegrino.
No changements in the FS2, couples and female categories.
